The camper van itself was excellent and a real joy to experience. It was in great condition, and the handover was smooth with clear and helpful instructions.
There were a couple of minor issues. The exterior hadn't been cleaned before our collection, so it was a shame to pick the van up looking dirty.
The main thing that let our trip down, unfortunately, was the return experience. We had been told there was no rush to return the van, so we decided to extend our trip slightly. We then encountered bad traffic and gave notice as soon as we could. However, the tone of the messages became quite abrupt, and we were told it was unacceptable that the host had been waiting for 15 minutes. I explained that I was driving and that we would arrive as soon as possible, but it unfortunately left a sour ending to what had otherwise been a lovely trip.
On arrival, the host immediately jumped towards the van asking, "Is that a scratch?" which it wasn't, and there was also some confusion regarding the small amount of mileage we'd used.
Overall, the camper van itself was fantastic and we had a great experience exploring in it. Unfortunately, the issues with the collection cleanliness and more significantly, the host's approach at the end of the trip let down what would otherwise have been a brilliant experience.
