We’ve just returned from our first ever motorhome adventure to the Lake District in Goldie, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. First of all, Goldie is AMAZING! She is absolutely huge inside and there is so much room. The main island bed was perfectly comfortable, although I’d definitely recommend taking your own pillows 🙂 The real surprise was the massive drop-down double bed. It is enormous and easily big enough for two big kids. In fact, it’s actually longer than the main island bed! I’m 6’1” and, although I slept on the island bed, I would have been more comfortable off up top! We drove Goldie all the way up to the Lake District and back and had absolutely no issues whatsoever. She was incredibly comfortable on the drive and, once you get used to the size, she is surprisingly easy and enjoyable to drive... We drove her through the tight lanes of Keswick with no issues at all. For the entire trip we spent around £350 in diesel which was approx 700 miles. There is a little learning curve when you first arrive, hooking up the electric, connecting the water, sorting the gas and, of course, the glamorous job of emptying the toilet cassette! 😂 But once you’ve got the hang of everything, it becomes really simple and, strangely enough, actually quite good fun. The biggest thing for us, though, was how lovely and helpful the owners were. They were fantastic from start to finish, incredibly accommodating and made everything really easy for us. They even kindly extended our return time by an extra hour, which made the journey home so much more relaxed. Goldie was absolutely perfect for our family and made our Lake District trip even more special. We would 100% recommend Goldie and her lovely owners and would happily hire her again. What a wonderful experience we had hiring this fabulous motorhome from K&J. They were so friendly and helpful, always getting back promptly to us with any queries we had. The lovely motorhome was spotless and thoughtfully stocked with items you may need for your trip. It was a great size for the family of 4 we are and we would recommend K&J wholeheartedly! Août 2026
