James and “Ollie” were great from start to finish! James picked us up and ripped us off at the station and was on hand throughout the week we hired Ollie. Ollie was in great condition and perfect for our wee exploring the NC500. Overall couldn’t recommend James and Ollie enough.

James communicated well with us ahead of our trip and even picked us up and dropped us off to the bus station! Not sure that’s normally included but we were very grateful! Van was clean and fully equipped for our 5 night trip. We just brought our usual holiday gear. Van drove well and was comfortable. We stayed around Inverness while I visited my godmother then drove up to Durness and down to Ullapool.
We will definitely use James again next time we visit.

What an amazing experience and adventure we had on our first time in a campervan, especially one named Ollie. The beautiful Isle of Skye, up to Ullapool and across to Fortrose; more miles will definitely follow.
The whole experience was made all the more easy with the kind, friendly and thorough advice provided by James, before, during and after the journey.
The beautiful weather also helped and I believe James had a hand organised this! All the boxes ticked then.
We would not hesitate to rent again from James and are already looking at later in the year.

As previously said, James is a smashing fella who gives a comprehensive hand over.
Ollie, was very easy to drive. He was well equipped but the toaster has to sit on the chopping board on the floor as it has a short lead.
Sometimes it seemed a bit cramped so try not to overpack (we did🤦🏼♀️) Using the table for extra worktop is ideal.
Ollie was great for parking and fitting into passing places on the NC500.
The night heater kept us warm and toasty.
A few times the leisure battery warning went off but it never let us down. - Maybe check with James why?
The bed was easy to set up and put away, the bedding was good quality.
Having the freedom to see a spot, stop and put the kettle on was fantastic.
Parking Ollie up at the end of 2 weeks was like leaving a family member behind 😀

Wow, what an incredible trip. We hired Ollie from James for our holiday to Scotland for the NC500. James was so accommodating from the moment we booked, to us handing Ollie back at the end of our trip (which we were very sad about!).
Ollie was perfect for us, being our first campervan holiday, he was not too big to drive the narrow roads of the NC500 but also spacious enough for the 2 of us with luggage for our 6 nights when pitching up at our campsites. Ollie was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The only thing that would have made campervan life a little easier would have been having a microwave. But appreciate space is limited and we made do with the toaster & hob!
James was so friendly and relaxed which made the whole experience stress free. If you’re debating to book with him, we could not recommend him enough. Thank you for everything!

James was an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish.
James provided a swift, friendly handover and was very accommodating with pick up and drop off times, which was a relief as we were working around ferry sailing times. He went out of his way to turn Ollie around to accommodate an early pick up which we were very thankful for.
Ollie is very well equipped and a dream to drive. Small enough to navigate rural Scottish roads but also very comfortable for your overnight stops.
We will absolutely be contacting James when we return for another Scottish adventure.

5-day golfing roadtrip with my husband around the NC500. Ollie was perfect, easy to drive and right size for the two of us. We were very impressed with James at the handover and extremely impressed by Ollie s presence, he looked great. We were given a good briefing by James about Ollie and he assisted us with the ' go forms' via Goboony.
Our intention was to complete the NC500 over the 6 whole days we had, but it was quickly apparent that 6 days was not long enough to visit all the places of interest, so we fine tuned with the intention of going back in 2025.
We wild camped in Ollie for the whole period, in car parks, layby's, by lochs etc, no need for a campsite, it was great, he did not put a wheel wrong, he was great to drive and live in.
We could not have hoped for a better motorhome as an intro to the camper life.
We would recommed James and his camper Ollie, wholeheartedly, It was a wonderful trip

Wow what else can I say but wow! If your looking for a campervan to do the nc500 look no further than James. an absolute gentleman to deal with and excellent communication from day 1. Van was super clean great to drive. And just all in all a fantastic week we loved it all.

My bf and I just did the NC500 road trip in Ollie and it was excellent! Ollie had everything we needed, and the heater was appreciated, as it can get very cold in Scotland. Ollie is a good size to get around in. Larger vehicles would struggle on some of those NC500 roads.

James made the process effortless and enjoyable, he was friendly, relaxed and so helpful! The van was spotless and very well maintained. James explained and gave us an in depth tour of the van before driving away on our trip. There was even an information guide in the van if we forget anything. The van itself was well equipped with everything you need for a road trip, outside seating & table, bedding, crockery and basic toiletries such as washing up
Liquid and loo roll (from previous campers) there was plenty of storage which helps keep the van tidy and organised. Overall an enjoyable, relaxed, stress free and fun trip! Will definitely be hiring from James again 😁🏴🚐

I don’t often leave reviews, but the trip I just enjoyed with my wife in Ollie the camper van was so much fun and James was such a great hirer I wanted to let people know.
James is a top bloke, excellent communication, very friendly and the van was in great condition with all the essential bits you need included.
The hand over was smooth and everything was clearly explained before we set off. James was also really flexible as we needed to pick up the van a bit early to dart up the east coast.
The smooth nature of the hire made a great trip even better and I’ve no hesitation in recommending James and Ollie the camper van - plus the NC500 which was fantastic.

Pick up was straight forward and again James was great to deal with- I would highly recommend Ollie and James to anyone looking to hire a VW camper.

James is super helpful and it felt like he really couldn't do enough for us. Ollie was a wonderful campervan and was part of the background in creating some wonderful memories while walking with my youngest son. Lochside camping 3 nights in a row, each at jaw dropping locations, highly recommend James and we will probably be using him again later this year.

Thanks to James (and Ollie) for a fantastic 4 nights campervanning around the incredible West coast. (Ullapool, Sheildaig, Dunvegan, Laggan). This was our first camper van trip and can't recommend it enough. Ollie is easy to drive (even over the spectacular, mildly daunting, Applecross peninsula) and is a comfortable, cosy living space. The weather wasn't great so not much opportunity for outdoor living. The variable weather just adds to the adventure, so don’t let that put you off!
James was very helpful in route planning and van hand over etc. All very straightforward and hassle free and we really appreciated the lift back to Inverness station. Thanks.

I can't explain how great our experience was with both James and Ollie (Van).
James was extremely helpful and kind from start to finish. He made sure everything was explained through out the van and also provided knowledge on the area.
Ollie was the perfect steed for us to completed the NC500 and more! The downstairs bed was extremely comfy and all of the features were clean and in great working condition. It had no troubles with the tough roads found through out our trip.
Cant recommend these two enough, they helped make our trip one we will never forget.

James was incredibly friendly, helpful and informative, simple and relaxed collection and drop off, easy to find location. Spotlessly clean inside and out,
excellent initial tour of camper and how everything worked. The camper had everything we needed, including adapter for phone, sat nav & music.
Big Sands was our favourite campsite
We would definitely hire from James again.

James was fantastic. Great comms and support throughout. He was very accommodating of our timings and even gave us a lift to the airport! Cannot recommend him enough.
Ollie was also perfect. Easy to drive, economical on fuel (we did the NC500 on a single tank!), and comfortable and practical. We struggled to suggest anything in the camper we would change, as it was all so perfect.

We had an amazing 10 days with Oli in summer 2022. James could not have been more helpful or efficient with the queries we had before travelling, and went above and beyond to make our holiday a success. Oli was a great size for our first campervan hire as a family; just big enough for the four of us (two adults and two kids, 5 and 8), and small enough to feel confident driving around steep hills and tight corners. Pick up was a convenient short taxi ride from Inverness railway station, petrol use was really economical, and the van itself was in great condition. We'll happily hire Oli again.

We had a great experience renting “Olly” the VW camper rented by James.
We took a taxi from Inverness to Dochgarroch where Olly was parked up beside James’s cottage near the visitor centre & embarkation point for Caledonian canal cruises. James explained the in & outs of the camper. Olly was immaculately clean & we definitely got the impression, it was a labour of love for James, renting out his pride and joy. I am very glad we chose Olly than search for a bigger camper. Olly had a small wheel base & managed the narrow roads we found in the North of Scotland with ease, anything bigger would have been a struggle to drive, I would imagine and there was plenty of room inside to chill. The rear seats flattened to make a very comfortable bed & there was the option of another double bed in the roof which could be opened up when stationary but we had no need to use this as we were 2 & not 4 people travelling.
On our return, we felt genuinely welcomed back James & after an inspection the paperwork/contract we signed days before was signed off and we left 2 very satisfied customers.

Ollie was great for our trip recently through the isle of Skye and part of NC500! Versatile, in great condition and for the prices of fuel these days we were impressed with its consumption. Ollie turned out to be ideal and very comfortable for this trip with 4 friends.
And we cannot praise James enough for its kind hospitality and support throughout our trip. He was absolutely incredible with us and even gave us a lift to and from Ollie.

James was a fantastic person to rent from, with the camper being located just outside Inverness. Pick up was very easy, as was drop off. James is very friendly and chilled, which made the whole experience that much nicer.
Ollie was the perfect vehicle for a 5-day trip around the West Coast - immaculate and in great condition. As a couple, the fold down bed was perfect.
The two gas hobs, the sink/tap and the fridge all worked very well. The van is the perfect size to fit on some of the smaller, winding roads too.
The van drives very well and the diesel tank pretty much covered the whole NC500 on one fill, which was very handy.
All in all, we would not hesitate to rent from James again and hope to do so. Highly recommended.

We loved our week in Olly and took him round the NC500. Thanks to James and Reinette for being so welcoming and keeping him in such a lovely clean condition - and especially for the comfortable bed! This was our first camper van experience so we’ll definitely be back for more. We highly recommend Olly if you want a lovely easy camper trip and great host.

Ollie was perfect for exploring the Scottish Highlands - well equipped but not too big making it easy to drive on challenging roads. Surprisingly economical too.
James the owner really went above and beyond, suggesting places to visit and always being available on the phone if we had any questions.

Ollie was a great camper for our trip to Skye. It had everything we needed to cook and sleep and was very comfortable. The van is in great condition and drives very well. We would recommend it for anyone and it can sleep four very comfortably.
James was very helpful when we had questions and flexible with our pick up/drop off times. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a camper van rental.
